The Shire of Ffynnon Gath Proudly Presents:

The Shire of Ffynnon Gath is proud to host King’s Champion and Royal Huntsman along with our competitions to choose Shire Champions. We have many activities planned to entertain you the day through.


King’s Champion

His Majesty has put out a challenge to all non-belted fighters to vie for the honor of becoming the next King's Champion. The victor will be chosen by his Majesty while watching the Swiss 5 tournament. All rounds will be fought in matched styles. The Swiss 5 shall consist of a round of 7½’ Glaive, Great Axe, Sword and Shield, 6’ Glaive, and Great Sword(5’+).


Royal Huntsman

Join us in an archery competition as the King decides who will be the next Royal Huntsman.


Shire Championships


Jägermeister- Our heavy list will consist of a double-elimination (2 of 3), single sword tourney.


Bräumeister- Bring your finest beers, meads, wines, ales, stouts, and lagers to be judged by our panel of judges.

 

Handwerksmeister- A&S Competition-No theme required, documentation appreciated.

 

Silent Auction

Bring your gold and silver to bid on donated items.

 

Local Amenities

There is a HEB & a Walmart 5 minutes from the site as well as various restaurants and hotels.

 

Other Activities

We are also planning to offer a Tavern, Children's Activities, Youth and Rapier Championship tournaments, and a Bardic competition to be held during feast.  Lady Eleanora Elizabeth Caley will be teaching a Waterbearing 101 and Chirurgeon 101 class.       Site Fee is $10.00, Children (ages 6-12) $5.00, Children (5 and under) Free, $30.00 Family Cap. Feast fees are $7.00 for adults, Children (ages 6-12) $4.00, Children (5 and under) Free.  A $3.00 non-member surcharge applies to anyone without proof of membership. Make checks payable to SCA Inc./Shire of Ffynnon Gath.   Acceps is available for this event. Site opens 5pm Friday, closes 12pm Sunday. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  They may also attend with a 21-year or older adult with a signed and notarized Minor Event Waiver Form from the parents.  Site is located at Nolte Island Park in Seguin, TX. Site has electricity, running water, and flush privies. No pets are allowed on site.  Site is WET, please use period containers. Merchants encouraged and welcomed. No merchant fee, any merchant may donate a prize in lieu of site fee.

Directions to Site

Site is located at Nolte Island Park in Seguin, TX. Site has electricity, running water, and flush privies.   Site is WET, please use period containers (NO GLASS). Pets are allowed on leashes. Per GBRA, no Horses.

  • From I-10:
    Take Exit 610 for Hwy 123 South. Take a left onto FM 466 and travel 1.8 miles.
    The site will be on your right-hand side, just before the Guadalupe River bridge. Watch for SCA signs.
  • From IH-35:
    In San Marcos, take Exit 204 for Hwy 123 South. Drive ~20 miles to Seguin, take the left hand fork at the Hwy 123 split. Take a left onto FM 466 and travel 1.8 miles. The site will be on your right-hand side, just before the Guadalupe River bridge.
